We mentor to make a better future for our incarcerated youth within the
Department of Juvenile Justice.
Youth Environment Success Project inc. is a faith based nonprofit organization 501c3 tax exempt that focuses on mentoring incarcerated youth. Our mission is to teach the youth the principles of God and to trust in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Many of the youth we mentor have been involved in dangerous and destructive behavior and are presently serving time within the Department of Juvenile Justice. Many are repeat offenders and are involved in gang activity and exhibit little or no remorse for their behavior. Many come from abusive and violent backgrounds and have been victims of such activity or have been homeless, lived in homes or neighborhoods where drug and alcohol use was a normal way of life, or lived in several foster care homes and did not experience the love, nurture and security needed for proper development. However, their is hope, by building trusting ,caring, consistent relationships with youth we work to help them understand that his/her negative behavior is wrong with the goal of them developing the desire to change. We also help the youth understand the importance of good moral character, academic success, and not giving into peer pressure while warning them about the long term consequences of criminal behavior, the dangers of gang activity and drug and alcohol use. Our approach helps them realize that someone cares about them which is why the youth is open to share their thoughts and feelings and is receptive to the words spoken by their mentor which is why it is important for you to get involved and give your support.
Although we look for sponsorship from government agencies we rely on donations from the public. We strongly believe in preventing ongoing juvenile delinquency. We are a organization that offers experienced mentoring in all areas of life and building a hands on relationship with our youth during their incarceration through their transition into their home environment as well as apprenticeship programs, working close with businesses, community, educational institutions, and organizations for job opportunities.
The Department of Juvenile Justice is partnered with Youth Environment Success Project Inc.
Y.E.S. Project has been given approval to move forward with our mentoring program within the Department of Juvenile Justice.
